We built a comprehensive link-building campaign designed to position Charity Auctions Today as the authoritative fundraising software in Google’s algorithm.

Competitor Backlink Analysis & Gap Identification

We analyzed the backlink profiles of the top 5 competitors ranking on page 1 for “charity auction software” and “nonprofit fundraising tools.” We identified 340 high-authority domains linking to competitors but not to Charity Auctions Today. These became our primary targets — sites already proven to link to fundraising software platforms.

Resource Page & Directory Link Building

We identified 180+ nonprofit resource directories, software comparison sites, and “best tools” lists where competitors were featured. We submitted Charity Auctions Today to each with tailored pitches highlighting unique features (mobile bidding, text-to-donate, event management). Within 6 months, we secured placements on 127 resource pages including major nonprofit industry sites.

Digital PR & Industry Publication Outreach

We pitched data-driven stories to nonprofit and tech publications: “How Nonprofits Raised $42M Using Digital Auctions in 2023,” “5 Fundraising Technology Trends Changing Charity Events,” and “Mobile Bidding vs. Silent Auctions: ROI Analysis.” These campaigns landed featured articles and backlinks on 6 major industry publications with combined monthly traffic exceeding 2 million visitors.

High-Authority Domain Targeting (DR 85+)

We specifically targeted ultra-high-authority domains through strategic placements: Pinterest boards showcasing fundraising tools, Wikipedia citations on charity auction pages, government resource pages linking to nonprofit software, and digital trends sites reviewing fundraising platforms. Each placement required custom outreach and relationship building, but the domain authority transfer was worth the effort.

Broken Link Replacement Strategy

We used tools to identify 200+ broken links on nonprofit websites pointing to dead fundraising resources. We contacted site owners offering Charity Auctions Today as a replacement resource. This resulted in 40+ high-quality backlinks from DR 70-85 nonprofit sites.

Content Partnership & Co-Marketing

We partnered with complementary nonprofit tools (email marketing platforms, CRM systems, payment processors) to create co-branded content like “The Complete Nonprofit Fundraising Tech Stack” and “How to Integrate Your Auction Software with Your Donor Database.” These partnerships generated backlinks from ConstantContact (DR 93), Crunchbase (DR 90), and other major platforms in the nonprofit tech ecosystem.

Over 18 months, we built 758 new referring domains,  a 6,400% increase from the original 12. The backlink velocity and authority transfer pushed Charity Auctions Today from pages 4-7 to page 1 for over 200 critical keywords. Organic traffic now accounts for 70%+ of software trials, and Tom’s paid ad budget dropped by 60% while maintaining the same lead volume.
